Our Winter Servicing programme is coming to an end - well it is now officially Spring!
Are your lawn & garden machines ready for Spring & Summer? If not, give us a call & arrange for us to service your machines so that they are in tip top condition for when you are ready to make that first cut.
If you are the hands on type who likes to service your machines yourself our parts department will be able to supply you with genuine replacement parts.
Over the last year or so we have seen an increase of machinery which is hard to start or just won't start. This is due to fuel going 'off'. This degraded fuel can cause damage to plastic & rubber fuel system components allowing air to get into areas it shouldn't. Most fuel blends contain ethanol these days to reach emissions targets. Ethanol in itself is corrosive as it attracts water. High amounts of oxygen in ethanol blended fuels speed up the decay of gasoline. Decaying fuel can leave a varnish or sludge in the carburettor which can choke the fuel system.
As gasoline & milk are both organic substances they decay in the same way - if your gasoline smells foul, like milk it indicates that it has gone off.
If you do not treat your gasoline with an ethanol fuel stabiliser it may make your machinery hard to start within 10 - 15 days. Decay from untreated gasoline can start almost immediately.
The engineers in the workshop always use fuel that is treated with Briggs & Stratton Fuel Fit when they are changing fuel during a service & other maintenance work. Why not try it for yourself?
